Abdullah Gül University Bioengineering graduate program student Nur Şebnem Ersöz, has received the best oral presentation award at the "3th International Conference on Natural Products for Cancer Prevention and Therapy / 3. International Natural Products in Cancer Prevention and Treatment" held by Erciyes University Faculty of Pharmacy, with her study titled as "Resveratrol Targets Sphingolipid metabolism to Induce Growth Inhibition in FLT3 ITD Acute Myeloid Leukemia".
Faculty of Life and Natural Sciences, Molecular Biology and Genetics Faculty Member Dr. Aysun Adan and her team showed that resveratrol, a natural product, is effective in sphingolipid metabolism in FLT3 ITD Acute Myeloid Leukemia (AML) and growth in AML is suppressed with this natural product. With these studies, they planned to develop new treatment approaches by enlightening the molecular mechanism of AML.
